<p>Thousands of North Pacific humpbacks winter in the ʻAuʻau Channel between Maui, Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi. Boats depart West Maui and Māʻalaea harbors in season; peak action runs January through March, and you'll often spot spouts from shore.</p>
